Plaza Swing Series
Did you know that the Dweck Center offers dance lessons every Wednesday night in the summer? Lessons are held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and the music and dance styles change each week. It’s a great way to experience local Brooklyn talent while learning a new dance! The music starts promptly at 7 p.m.
Stomp, Clap & Sing
If you’re traveling with children, consider bringing them to Stomp, Clap & Sing. This program is held on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and gives youngsters a chance to do just what the program’s title suggests. Mental Health First Aid
Held on Mondays at the Dweck Center is Mental Health First Aid, a groundbreaking public education program that introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems. The 8-hour course uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate a mental health crisis. It also teaches about specific illnesses like anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and addictions.
