Where to Get Sushi in Park Slope
1. Sushi Katsuei | 7th Ave
Named one of the best under-the-radar sushi spots in NYC, Sushi Katsuei has something for everyone. Head straight to the wooden counter where skilled fish slicers prepare mouth-watering nigiri. Or order cooked items like free-range chicken teriyaki or tempura udon for the kids. Sushi Katsuei even offers an omakase (chef’s tasting menu) that starts at just $45, one of the best deals in town.
2. Ten | 7th Ave
Ten Restaurant is another great choice for Japanese cuisine in South Slope. Here you’ll find traditional kitchen entrées as well as wide variety of freshly prepared sushi and sashimi dishes. One of our favorites is the healthy, rice-less Ten Roll, which features spicy yellowtail, salmon, papaya, and avocado wrapped in rice paper and drizzled with special sauce. Yum!
3. Taro Sushi | Flatbush Ave
Chef Yuji Sano is at the helm of Taro, a casual sushi restaurant that’s a favorite among South Brooklynites. Taro’s combination of exceptionally fresh fish, low prices, and warm, neighborhood feel has helped garner its loyal following. The menu is à la carte, but there’s an omakase option at the bar where rich tuna, sea urchin, and monkfish liver atop warm, vinegary rice await.
4. JPan Sushi | 5th Ave
Don’t feel like eating out? Order takeout or delivery from JPan Sushi. This eatery is a cornerstone of the Brooklyn community, known for its fresh, high-quality ingredients and modern interpretation of classic dishes. Feel free to place your order online and choose from items like yaki udon, teriyaki, house special rolls, and sushi/sashimi platters.
5. Silver Rice | Park Place
Silver Rice is located about ten minutes from Park Slope in Prospect Heights. And it’s definitely worth the drive. This shop’s fast-casual vibe is perfect for lunch, where diners can either take their food to go or eat in. Sushi rolls are always made-to-order; the Classic Rolls celebrate the simplicity of fresh fish, and signature Special Rolls represent what modern sushi can be. Be sure to ask about varying Seasonal Rolls, too.
