Some of the Best Brooklyn Street Fairs

Atlantic Antic | September

If you want to attend an authentic Brooklyn street fair, start with the oldest and largest – the Atlantic Antic. This beloved festival brings thousands of people to Atlantic Avenue to celebrate the longstanding tradition of food, art, music, and fun. Enjoy free outdoor performances on multiple live music stages, or try a variety of delicacies up and down the Avenue. There’s even an entire block dedicated to kids! Pony rides, bounce houses, face painting and many other children’s activities make this festival fun for the entire family.

The Giglio Feast | July

One of the reasons that New York City is so vibrant is because of its history. The Big Apple is a city of immigrants, and The Giglio Feast celebrates Italian immigration and culture. It’s held in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where the Nolani immigrants first held their transplanted feast in 1903. Fairgoers can enjoy traditional Italian fare and watch the lifting of the giglis, a ritual where hundreds of men carry 82-foot wooden towers through the streets.

Smorgasburg & The Brooklyn Flea | April – October

For those of you on a tight schedule, never fear. There’s an awesome open-air food market every weekend in Brooklyn. Smorgasburg attracts thousands of hungry patrons every Saturday and Sunday and features over 100 local vendors. From ramen burgers to classic carne asada, you’re sure to find a bite that will satisfy your cravings.

The Brooklyn Flea is another must-see event. It’s the borough’s largest flea market and is open every weekend in Williamsburg and DUMBO. You’ll find a wide range of vintage items as well as antiques, collectibles, and food. Best of all, attending Smorgasburg and the Brooklyn Flea helps support the local businesses that keep New York City alive and thriving. It’s a win-win!
