The Samuel J. and Ethel LeFrak Center at Lakeside is a beloved activity center in Brooklyn, New York. Located within Prospect Park, the center hosts a number of activities and events year-round. Top 5 Things to Do at the Lefrak Center

1. Ice Skating

The Lefrak Center has two seasonal ice skating rinks with 32,000 square feet of skating space. One rink is covered and the other is open-air. In addition to public ice skating, Lefrak offers fall and winter programs like curling, hockey, and figure skating. They even have a skate school with classes for beginners and experienced skaters alike. The ice skating season runs from late October to late March, with admission fees that range from $6 to $9. 2. Biking

Take a scenic ride on Prospect Park’s drive! The LeFrak Center at Lakeside has a unique fleet of bikes and surreys for rent. All rentals come with a safety helmet, and children under 14 are required to wear a helmet. Click here for details on pricing.

3. Boating

If you’re visiting Brooklyn during the spring or summer, be sure to take a peaceful afternoon cruise on the flat waters of Prospect Park. Guests can rent a pedal boat or kayak and explore the lake, Chaim Baier Music Island, and other parts of the watercourse. All rentals come with a lifejacket which must be worn at all times.

4. Splash Pad

Named “Best of New York” by New York Magazine, The Splash Pad is Prospect Park’s largest water play area. It features 47 water spray jets covering 16,000 square feet and provides hours of warm-weather fun. Children twelve and under love cooling off here in season!

5. Dining

Need a break from all the fun? Head to the Bluestone Cafe at the LeFrak Center. Located in Chase Pavilion, the cafe features indoor and outdoor seating with panoramic views. The seasonal menu ranges from light bites to healthy chef-inspired sandwiches and desserts. Bluestone is open year-round. Check out their menu online!
