Delight in a Day of Ice Skating in Prospect Park

Ice skating is a beloved pastime in America. In addition to being tons of fun, this nostalgic activity is a great way to get exercise during the cold winter months. Our guests love knowing that there is a state-of-the-art ice skating facility just steps from our inn.

The Lakeside Ice Skating Rink

Thanks to a major restoration project by the Park Alliance, the southeast corner of Prospect Park has been transformed into a scenic recreational destination. The Samuel J. and Ethel LeFrak Center at Lakeside has two seasonal ice skating rinks with 32,000 square feet of skating space. One rink is covered and the other is open-air. In addition to public ice skating, Lakeside offers fall and winter programs like curling, hockey, and figure skating. They even have a skate school with classes for beginners and experienced skaters alike.

If you need a break from skating, head to the Bluestone Cafe at Chase Pavilion. The Cafe offers indoor and outdoor seating with beautiful panoramic views. Open year-round, their seasonal menu offers light bites as well as hearty and healthy fare. It’s the perfect place to relax before heading back out on the ice!

Hours and Admission

The Prospect Park ice skating season runs from late October to late March, with admission fees that range from $6 to $9. The Lakeside ice skating rink is also available for special event rentals. Skate rentals are $6 a pair.
